this reminds me of my visit to NYC years ago. before i got there my friend told me not to be a tourist and walk around staring up at the buildings. this simple act could be the easiest way to walk the streets without being hassled, mugged or ridiculed in the rotten apple. i completed that trip successfully without being mugged, hassled or ridiculed… but i did walk right past the empire state building and never even knew.
